From Heart to Hands: The Art of Adjustments

20-Hour Hands-On Training for Yoga & Movement Teachers

With ellie cooper & mari colbert

September 18-20 2026

There is a quiet language within the body- one that speaks through breath, sensation, and subtle response.

To offer hands-on adjustments is to step into that conversation.
Not to fix, but to listen. Not to impose, but to support.

  • From Heart to Hands: The Art of Adjustments is a 20-hour immersive training designed for yoga and movement teachers who want to deepen their understanding of touch as both a skill and a practice.

This training blends practical, hands-on techniques with a more intuitive approach- helping you build confidence while refining your ability to read and respond to the bodies in front of you.

Together, we’ll explore the ecosystem of adjustments through a modern, thoughtful lens. You’ll learn how to observe patterns, recognise what a body may need, and offer support in a way that feels clear, respectful, and effective.

    Throughout the training, we’ll cover:

    • The art and ethics of touch

    • Developing skills in body reading and observation

    • Understanding when to assist—and when not to

    • How to offer adjustments that support without overriding

    • Trauma-informed approaches to consent, safety, and autonomy

    • How hands-on work can help students feel seen, supported, and held within a group class

Expect a balance of hands-on practice, guided learning, and shared exploration, giving you the tools to offer adjustments that are both technically skillful and deeply attuned.

  • This training is for teachers who want to elevate their classes- creating spaces where students not only move well, but feel met, supported, and more connected to their own bodies.

Suitable for yoga teachers and movement practitioners alike.
