    Is Reformer Pilates Good For Beginners?

    Yes — Reformer Pilates is perfect for beginners. The machine supports you while helping you learn proper technique and build strength. If you’re new, start with our Foundations class or join an upcoming 4-Week Foundations Series via our app.

    Are Grip Socks Required?

    Yes, grip socks are required for safety and hygiene on the reformer machines. We have grip socks available for purchase for $20 in studio.

  • Yes, absolutely — Kula Studio is beginner-friendly, and you don’t need to be fit or flexible to start. We offer dedicated intro series and supportive classes (especially for reformer Pilates and yoga), with teachers who provide clear guidance and safe technique so you feel confident from your very first class. Our sessions are designed to meet you exactly where you are, helping you gradually build strength, mobility, and confidence over time.

  • Do You Offer An Intro Deal For New Clients?

    Yes, we offer a $59 package for 10 classes valid for two weeks, which includes yoga, mat pilates and reformer sessions for new clients so you can try what we offer before committing to a membership.     Can I Do Both Yoga and Reformer Pilates On One Pass?

    Yes, your intro pass and our memberships allow you to attend both yoga and reformer Pilates classes, depending on the option you choose.

    Do You Sell Gift Cards?

    Yes! You can purchase Kula Studio gift cards directly from our website: www.kulastudio.co.nz. Gift cards can be used for classes, passes, and selected offerings, and make a beautiful gift for birthdays, special occasions, or just because.

  • You can book classes online through our website or via our Kula branded app, available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We recommend booking ahead, especially for reformer Pilates and popular class times.

  • We have a cancellation window to allow other clients to take your spot. Please check our full cancellation policy under T&C's on our website for the most up-to-date details.

  • Yes — there are several parking options close to the studio:

    • The Welder Car Park (Welles Street): Pay-by-the-hour parking is available in The Welder car park, just accross the street from the studio.

    • Welles Street (on-street parking): There is free 120-minute on-street parking available on Welles Street (where signage allows).

    • Surrounding streets: There is also paid parking in the surrounding area, with various time limits depending on the street and council signage.

  • We provide basic props like mats, blocks, and other support equipment for classes. However, we recommend bringing your own mat if you have one, as we have a limited number available in the studio. Having your own mat also means you’ll always have one you’re comfortable with and that suits your practice.

  • Yes! We have showers on site so you can freshen up after class. Towels are available to hire for $5, and we also have lockers available for you to store your belongings while you’re in class.

    • Please arrive 10–15 minutes early if it’s your first visit so we can help you get set up.

    • Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.

    • And most importantly: just come as you are.
