meet james
James Hancox discovered Zenthai Shiatsu through his journey as a yoga teacher over eight years ago and was immediately drawn to its ability to restore balance and support the body's natural capacity to heal. Originally from Whangārei, Te Tai Tokerau (Northland), James has been a full-time Zenthai Shiatsu practitioner for the past five years, running a home-based clinic in Auckland while sharing his passion for the practice through workshops and trainings across Aotearoa.
James believes that intentional, mindful touch is a powerful foundation for wellbeing, with each treatment and teaching offering an opportunity for connection, presence, and care. His approachable and grounded teaching style creates a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to explore the art of touch and the principles of Zenthai Shiatsu.
When he's not in the clinic or teaching, you'll find James practising and teaching yoga, dancing, surfing, exploring human movement, and continuing his journey of learning and speaking Te Reo Māori.
